FAYRELL FURR, JR: I graduated from law school in 1968, went in the Army four and a half years, came back and starting practicing in Columbia in 1973. In 1979, started emphasizing a lot more of the medical malpractice cases. My top priority is always to do the right thing for my clients.

FAYRELL FURR, JR: Well the Southern Trial Lawyers every year gives an award called the Warhorse Award, and you have to be recognized by your peers in the Southern Trial Lawyers as someone who's justified to getting the award. It's a great honor to, to win that award. I'm very proud of it.
The South Carolina Trial Lawyers once a year gives a Founder's Award to lawyers who have been around for a while and have been of a great service to the trial lawyers of the state. And I got that award several years ago.
I love to help people. I love to learn. I love to teach. For about 20 years, I've given three lectures at MUSC in Charleston, telling the residents what I see them doing wrong, what I see doctors doing wrong, and trying to help them to avoid the mistakes I see others make. And hopefully, by doing that we'll improve the quality of medical care in the state.
